This website supplements the annual study The World of Organic Agriculture which documents current statistics, recent developments and trends in global organic farming. The site contains news, corrigenda of the statistical material if needed, as well as supplementing material like pictures and graphs. The global study on organic farming is a joint project of the Foundation Ecology & Agriculture (SOEL), the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL). NürnbergMesse, the organisers of BioFach Fair, has supported this study since 2000. Since 2008 the global organic survey is also supported by Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs SECO (within the framework of its support activities for organic production in developing countries) and the International Trade Centre (ITC). Numerous experts on organic farming contribute annually to this global statistical yearbook. Since 2000 the latest global organic figures have been presented annually at the BioFach Fair in Nuremberg, of which IFOAM is the patron. Any updates or comments to the book or this website should be directed to the editors of the book.
