Documents related to the organic law in Chile
In Chile, an organic law has been in force since 2007. Products may only be called organic if inspected by an accredited control body. The relevant acts and decrees are:
- Organic Law No. 18.755, issued by the Agriculture and Livestock Service, modified by Law No. 19.283
- Decree No. 36 approving Regulations from Law No. 20.089 which created the National Certification System for Agricultural Organic Products
- Decree No. 17 approving the technical standard as described in law No. 20.089
- Law No. 20.089 which Creates the National Certification System for organic agricultural products
