Agro-Ecological Innovation is a new network for academics and practitioners in the agro-ecological field from across the agricultural spectrum, and throughout the European Union (EU), the EU candidate countries and the countries of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA). The final conference of this network will take place in November 2012 in Brussels.

Agro-Ecological Innovation provides a platform on which the members and affilliates of its partner organisations can meet online to discuss their projects and exchange ideas, and to work together in support of new agro-ecological approaches.

The following institutions are part of the network:

  • ARC202: a multi-stakeholder platform of over 150 civil society networks and organisations in 22 EU Member States all pushing for a real reform of the CAP – the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy.
  • IFOAM EU Group: The IFOAM EU Group is the EU working level of IFOAM – the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements.
  • TP Organics: TP Organics is the technology platform (TP) for organic food and farming research

Through this extensive network, the goal is to tap into existing knowledge and experience, to promote agro-ecological innovation and influence the pending reforms to the European Union's  Common Agricultural Policy and Horizon 2020, the EU framework programme for research and innovation.
