August 28-31, 2011: 16th Symposium of the European Grassland Federation

The 16th Symposium of the European Grassland Federation will take place August 28-31, 2011. Papers can be submitted until October 31, 2010. The conference is titled “Grassland farming and land management in mountainous regions,” and one of the session is organic, low-input and alternative grassland farming systems.

The conference activities will take place at the Agricultural Research and Education Centre (AREC) Raumberg-Gumpenstein, which is located in the geographical centre of Austria. Grassland of various types dominates the well structured and attractive landscape that has been formed by traditional farming over the centuries.

Participants are welcome to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations under one of the following sessions:

  • Meeting the challenge of grassland management in disadvantaged areas
  • Organic, low-input and alternative grassland farming systems
  • Grassland as a source of biodiversity and public goods
