Africa Organic Conference in Zambia 2012

In 2012, Zambia will host the second African Organic Conference. The conference will be organized by Organic Producers and Processors Association of Zambia OPPAZ in collaboration with local and international stakeholders. OPPAZ has appointed a committee to initiate the process. The first meeting of the committee to develop the roadmap for hosting the conference took place on Friday 16th July 2010 at the OPPAZ offices.

Several organizations such as the African Union and the newly established Southern Africa Participatory Guarantee Network (SAPNet) have indicated willingness to be partners in this conference. OPPAZ extends its invitation to other interested entities to participate and support the process. The conference is expected to assemble approximately 500 participants, including representatives from governments, inter-governmental institutions, UN agencies, national and international NGOs, private sector, universities, and research institutions.
