June 24-26, 2009: Scientific Conference in the frame of the Bioacademy in Lednice, Czech Republic

The 9th Bioacademy, titled 'Organic Farming - A Response to Economic and Environmental Challenges' will be held on 24th – 26th June 2009, in Lednice, Czech Republic. Papers can be submitted until April 20, 2009. Like in 2008, a scientific conference will be held as part of Bioacademy.

The 9th Bioacademy, titled 'Organic Farming - A Response to Economic and Environmental Challenges' will be held on 24th – 26th June 2009, in Lednice, Czech Republic.

Papers can be submitted until April 20,  2009.

Bioacademy is one of the most important conferences on organic farming (OF) in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. This year’s participants include Franz Fischer – the former EU Commissar for Agriculture and Rural Development, Urs Niggli - Director of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, Francis Blake – President of the EU Group of IFOAM (International Foundation for Organic Agriculture Movements) and others. A very important aspect of support for Bioacademy is the patronage of IFOAM EU GROUP and the Ministries of Agriculture and Ministries of the Environment of several countries.

Scientific conference

Like in 2008, a scientific conference will be held as part of Bioacademy, focussing on:

  • Soil Quality and Fertility in Organic Farming
  • Diversity in Organic Farming and its Successful Strategies
  • Animal Husbandry and Health

The scientific conference will be coordinated by Bioinstitut - Institute for Ecological Agriculture and Suistanable Landscape Management, in cooperation with the Palacký University Olomouc, FiBL (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture Switzerland, Austria) Institute of Organic Agriculture, University of Bonn, Bioforsk (Norwegian Institute for Agriculture and Environmental Research), Bio Forschung Austria, Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information Czech Republic, Soil Science and Conservation Research Institu
