June 22-24, 2011: International Conference on Organic Agriculture with a Focus on Horticultural Crops in Bihar, India

The Government of the Indian State of Bihar in association with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) - Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna, India, is organiszing a two-day international conference on organic agriculture.

It is expected that some unique organically produced commodities like jute, litchi, cosmetic raw materials from the state fof Bihar will soon be ready for export to different world markets.

It is in this connection that the International conference on Organic Agriculture is held at Patna from June 22 to 24, 2011. Experts from national and international organisations are expected to attend the conference besides farmers and state government officials. An exhibition is also proposed in order to showcase technologies related to organic farming, organic produce, supply of inputs and certification processes etc.

It is hoped that the Conference will benefit the farmers, policy makers, scientists and extension workers and will help in the development of a road-map for organic farming in Bihar.
