October 18, 2011: Seminar "Agriculture in Times of Climate Change – Organic Farming Approaches to Face the Challenge" in Brussels

The seminar "Agriculture in times of climate change – organic farming approaches to face the challenge" will take place in Brussels on October 18.

The European Group of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (www.ifoam-eu.org), Bio Austria (www.bio-austria.at), Member of the European Parliament Elisabeth Köstinger and the Round Table on Organic Agriculture and Climate Change (RTOACC, see www.organicandclimate.org) will host a public seminar on organic farming and climate change on 18 October 2011, between 13:00 and 16:30, at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The seminar entitled "Agriculture in times of climate change – organic farming approaches to face the challenge" will explore the strategies and measures organic agriculture can offer to meet the climate challenge in agriculture within the EU policy framework.

Internal roundtable meetings of the Round Table on Organic Agriculture and Climate Change , the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the European Group of IFOAM will also take place on 18 October, 17:00-19:00 and on 19 October, 9:00 to 13:00. These meetings will provide a forum for the exchange of recent scientific findings, to explore future strategies and to engage in discussions with representatives of the European Commission. Experts who wish to attend these meetings should also complete the Expert Registration Form.
