The conference had one main event and several thematic workshops and seminars on topics such as Participatory Guarantee Systems, Organic Policy, Aquaculture and Local Certification. The participants also had the opportunity to visit the Saba-Saba fair, where there were organic products on display.

The declaration and all the presentations of the conference, some of which  inform about organic farming policy development in the East African countries,  are available at the website of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). The conference is well documented and the presentations give a good overall overview of the current situation in East Africa.
